A7-something? The big thingy in the upper section of the big enclosure is set well back.

Not really. Technically, since they're loaded with some version of 421, they'd be 1208's or 1235's.A7-something?
I must say that i really like the cosmetic facelift, they're neat, clean, and not immediately like any other Altec. Get the sonics up on par with the cosmetics and they'd really be some serious VOT's for the home.

Seller is calling them a7 vott.
He states the 511's were moved to the top and the
port dimension of 55 sq in gives max bass with 421 a's.
No affiliation just thought I might try some of what he's done including port dimension.
Just wondering if the 55 sq in. port is good size to start with?
Rectangular shaped I presume. Not sure if narrower and wider slot is better?

55 inch is probably better than the big port. I haven't done the math. Looks like a decent job.
Dunno if they are worth what he wants, the Musical instrument cabs go cheap, but then there is the work of making them look good. Might be a decent deal for someone DIY impaired.
